I knew tonight's game was going to be stressful when there were butterflies flying formation in my stomach by noon and kickoff wasn't until 8pm. After a long nap, I awoke at an hour before kickoff of FSU-UM with butterflies in full force. When the game started, our defense faltered, but so did the UM offense. Our offense never got on track. We managed ten points off two turnovers in the first half while the Canes missed two field goals. Karma's a bitch. I went to the rec room to watch on the big screen when we had a lead at half. That was a mistake...

The third quarter was when things started to go wrong. Rix threw two INTs, but UM couldn't capitalize. Early in the fourth quarter, the Canes finally got a field goal, but the Noles still had a seven-point lead. The third quarter was when things started to go wrong. Rix threw two INTs, but UM couldn't capitalize. Early in the fourth quarter, the Canes finally got a field goal, but the Noles still had a sevenpoint lead. With almost four minutes left, we had a field goal blocked. Then, with thirty seconds left, and the scent of victory in the air, Miami scored from their twenty. What was supposed to be a short pass from Berlin to Moss backfired as he ran passed several Seminole defenders. After the extra point, it was on to overtime...

UM won the toss and deferred. FSU's first running play lost eight yards, then a pass to Thorpe ganed fifteen which were quickly eaten again by a failed run by Rix. Then, a snap exchange failed and was fumbled by Rix. Two plays later, Miami scored to win 16-10. Then, with thirty seconds left, and the scent of victory in the air, Miami scored from their twenty. I called my dad, but he doesn't understand what this game means to me being that I'm a senior. So, I called Bryan, but he was too smashed and being razzed by his roomies. Finally, I called Sara and told her I needed to get out of my room. We ended up at Wal-Mart looking for ways to express our displeasure. Sidewalk chalk was purchased and we headed to Rix's place of residence. However, he car was nowhere to be found, so on a hunch from Sara, we headed for the stadium. We found his car, but his parking space was too well-lit. So, we parked and walked to the practice field. We wrote at the entrance, "Let Wyatt Start!" and below that, "Rix Sucks". We vented artistically and won't get in trouble. Then, I got back to campus and went to the diner for a 3am snack to de-stress some more.
