Roe v. Wade

When I saw in the news earlier that Norma McCorvey was back in the news, I wondered what was up. She is trying to get the Supreme Court to overturn her landmark case. Then, I wondered why this news was being revealed now. However, I realized yesterday that today is the 32nd anniversary of the legalization of abortion. I knew that Ms. McCorvey had become pro-life and found Jesus since 1973, but as of two years ago, she wasn't sorry that she took part in Roe v. Wade. It seems now she is. Well that's too bad. As conservative as our government currently is, even Bush admitted that he isn't trying to take steps towards overturning Roe v. Wade by banning partial birth abortions, but I'm not sure I believe him. However, Norma McCorvey's announcement does make me wonder what, or possibly who, made her change her mind. I still believe though that this case will stand as freedoms being granted and then taken away is yet to happen in our country's history. Plus, as Prohibition proved, banning something doesn't mean it won't happen. It simply means it will happen in an unsafe manner. And we wouldn't want that, now would we?
